Heart Beat

This last Friday we went in for our monthly check-up. No big deal right, just making sure everything is still going as it should. Well, our Dr. goes to listen to our boy's heart beat and we can't seem to find it. At first I didn't worry because he is sitting completely different than Paizley; low...super low. As she kept trying to find it and was unsucessful, I then started to worry. She asked if I had felt him moving and I told her yes. I could fill him actually when she was trying to get the heart beat, but then I started to think that maybe she was just pushing him around. She told me we'd go look at him on an ultrasound to make sure he was ok. Immidately I panicked. Such a scary feeling not knowing if you're little baby is ok. My heart goes out to all those who have ever lost a baby. Luckily everything seemed fine. His heart was beating and he was moving. She did say that he was pretty much bent in half and that could have been why we couldn't find it. She tried to confirm that he was a boy but he was being very stubborn that day. The funniest thing she said was that it looked like he had a big head and that a repeat c-section would probably be a good thing! Haha, just like his daddy already. Craig's mom said that everyone use to comment on her kids having big heads. Looks like this Marvin boy is going to keep up the tradition. We're so glad that he is ok. We just have to get through 4 more months. Love you little man!

Christmas 2011

Christmas this year was wonderful. Paizley was starting to get the whole Santa concept and was a joy to watch over the holidays. She loved Santa and Christmas. She wanted a pink bike for Christmas and that's what she got. It makes me so happy when she's happy! I want to give her the world! We also taught her about the true meaning of Christmas by reading books about Christ's birth. She would say, "Baby Jesus, born." What a great season filled with service, family, the spirit, love, and happiness. Merry Christmas everyone and I hope to carry the spirit of the season with us into 2012.

It's been way too long since I've posted. Mostly because our computer is horrible. However, we finally purchased a new one!!! Yeah, hopefully I'll find time to post more. I just find it hard to post when I have my sweet Paizley to spend time with. She is growing up so fast! What a girl! What a kid! She really is so much fun to hang out with and her personality is just charming. She's a hoot and makes me laugh most of the day. She's also a talker. A very good talker. Pretty much says whatever she wants and what's on her mind. Funny story: some how she's learned the word boobs. Not sure how it happened, but it happened. I think it's probably because she touch herself and looks at me like, "mom what are these!?!" So I tell her. Is that wrong? I don't want her to feel like she can't ask questions, so I'm honest with her. Well, now she will find my bras and say, "boobs". Oh what's a mother to do! Sometimes she accidentally calls her boots boobs too. So funny. What a kid! I love her so much and don't think Craig and I have been happier. She really brings love, joy, and happiness into our home.

She also just got a big girl bed. Mostly because the crib was getting ridiculous to get her to sleep in. Also because we found out baby #2 is on its way, I'm only like 6ish weeks, so we wanted to get her use to the idea very slowly. She is use to having ALOT of attention. So when we told her we were expecting she said, "NO!!" I explained that it will be fun to have someone to play with and that she can help me change it's bum and feed it. She started to like the idea after that. She loves it at times and hates it at other times. Hopefully it will be a fun thing for her. Craig and I are really excited. We just know how much joy Paizley has brought into our lives and know this baby will do the same. Unforuntely, I've been SO sick with this baby. Throwing up, tired the whole gig. I finally got some medicine and it's really been helping. I'm wondering if this one is a boy. I never threw up with Paiz. We'll see I guess, but very exciting. If this is how you found out that we're expecting please don't be offended! It's so hard to tell everyone personally. We told family and that's really it. So don't be offended. We love you all and want to share the news with everyone but it can be so hard.

I've got some pictures to post that I will try and get up soon. But the Marvins are doing well and are just enjoying the news of the new baby coming and the beautiful fall weather.

What we have been up to lately

Like I mentioned awhile ago, my computer has been so weird lately so I haven't been able to post. Well, today I out smarted my computer! I realized it was kind of over heating so I put an ice pack under it while I've been on here and what do you know! It's been working great! Good thing too because I have alot to catch up on...we really have been up to some fun things lately. Here are just a few. The first group of pictures is of us camping for the 4th of July. This has been quite a tradition for our family the past few years and this year was even better because we purchased our first trailer and was able to take it with us! What a treat it was!

Can you say DIRTY!! Paiz seriously looked like this 99% of the time. She couldn't keep clean and didn't want to stay clean either! She is alot less prissy that she appears!

The next group of pictures is from when we took our dog Hank to the Course Alure. It's a big dog show thing that more people go to than I ever imagined! Lots of fun activities for the dogs and fun to see different types of dogs. Here is Hank running through the course...he did pretty well for his first time! Go Hank

Dad and Hank getting ready for the race. Next year we will try the water jump. It was expensive and we wanted to train him alittle before we paid for him to do it. They just jump after a water toy into this huge pool of water to see how far they can jump compared to their size. Craig's uncle Keith's dog is the first in the state of Utah. We want to try and give him a run for his money!

Next are some pictures of Paiz and I doing her favorite thing...swimming. We go atleast twice a week. She loves it. And she is getting so tan...she has beautiful skin!

The next group of pictures is us at the zoo. I got to go with some of my highschool friends and their kids. It's so fun getting together with them and their kids. Paiz needs more friends! She lives in such an adult world right now and just loves the chance to play with other kids. Here's us at our fun day at the zoo. She loved all the animals!

Yes, I forgot my stroller and had to rent one! CRAPY! But I wasn't going to walk through the whole zoo without one. Oh well, it all worked out!

Next are some pictures of when we went to St. George in May for our 4th anniversary. Can you believe it...4 years! It's really gone by so fast and I have really been so blessed and happy. Craig is the best. He's such a hard worker and wants to help others. He just has a big heart and I love him more and more each day! Love you babe, thanks for choosing me

Paiz came with us, we just couldn't leave her behind! We love this girl too much. But we had a great time all of us together. We stayed at my brother's the first night, went 4 wheeling, stayed at a hotel, went shopping, ate yummy food, played tennis and basketball, and did lots of swimming. Before we headed home we visited the St. George temple. Beautiful!

I apoligize for not posting as much. My computer is being really lame right now. It's being SO difficult and won't letting me download any pictures to it. Therefore, I'm really behind on posts. Sorry about that if you're a regular follower. Hopefully we'll be able to get a new computer soon. You never know how much you need it until you don't have it! EASTER 2011

This Easter was so much fun with Paizley. She loved all the candy and searching for eggs. We started off Easter Saturday at the city egg hunt. Paizley only got one egg. That was perfect for her though and she did it all by herself, unlike all the other kids! Then we had a party at my sister's place. We had yummy food and Paiz got to search for more eggs this time...she loved it! Her expressions when she would find an egg was priceless! That night we had more yummy food at my in-laws. The next morning was Easter Sunday and we let Paiz look in her Easter basket. She was SO excited. Christmas all over! She mostly loved the candy, but enjoyed her other things too. Then Craig did a short lesson on why we celebrate Easter. We showed her a picture of Jesus and told her that's why the Easter bunny comes to celebrate Jesus. We had to keep it simple and on her level! We finished it off with a yummy breakfast and day at church. Here's all the pictures from the weekend:

15 Months

Today was Paizley's 15 month check-up. I know I say this everytime, but I can' believe she's already 15 months! Good times. Here are her stats:

Weight= 20 lbs- 9%

Height= 2'6"- 33 %

Head= 76%

She still has a big head, but that's because she has such a big brain and is so smart! Still super tiny for her age too. That's ok, she's healthy and adorable and that's all that matters. She's right on track with everything and here is alittle about what our princess can do: loves books, drawing, playing outside, playing ball and catch, playing with animals, loves playing with other kids, can almost do a forward roll by herself (we might have a gymnast on our hands!),loves to dance and sing, make messes, and can say some words like mama, dada, wawa, please (in sign language), hot, eyes, Jesus (she really can!), and cheese. That's our girl and we love her so very much. xoxox

'I Do It Myself'

Paiz is all about doing it herself these days...EVERYTHING, but especially eating. She believes she is big girl who can feed herself. She is getting big, but not big enough to eat...well without getting completely messy. Oh well, this is one of those things as a mom I have to just let her do and don't worry about getting dirty. Believe me it's really hard, but she loves it.

14 Months

Here is Paizley at 14 months. One thing about her at 14 months is that she has SO much energy...so much that it's almost impossible to get her to hold still for a picture. We did get a few and that's why there are a few with mama...even thought she still wouldn't smile. She either won't smile or pulls huge cheesy smiles. What a cutie. 14 months has probably been one of my most favorite moments with Paiz. Her personality is really starting to show. She's starting to talk jiberish too and it's hilarious. Craig and I love to make up things that she's saying. She's recently learned to "wink", walk backwards, turn in circles, and balance on one leg. She gets so proud of herself...not to mention her parents! We really are so proud of her...she's gorgious from the inside out.

Projects

This was a project I did last weekend for Paizley's room. It's the letter P made out of crayons. I saw it on a TV show that I like to watch as I run on our tredmill. I thought, "Hey I could do that." Well little did I know! It was WAY harder than it looks. After about 5 hours of hard labor...I finished it. I think it turned out super super cute. So it was worth it, but I would probably never do it again! We have another project in the works...painting Paizley's play room. Every mother knows that they want everything for their kids and I've been wanting to paint her boring little playroom for so long. Well, we finally got to it. Pictures will come soon. I think it turned out so cute. Lime Green!!

Paizley has been getting so bored since the snow came. She LOVES being outside. She is definitely her daddy's daughter. There was one day that was decent weather compared to what it's been so I decided to take her out. We just went walking around exploring. She loved it. Even though when we got back home her little cheeks were red and her nose was cold, she didn't comlain once and actually cried because she wanted to stay outside. You can tell by all the pictures she loves climbing and stomping on things. We look forward to summertime when we can spend many hours outside doing more exploring.

This is Paizley the other night at dinner time. She was so tired! You'll notice that she eats and laughs and then dozes off...she gets this deliriousness from me!

This is Paizley telling our dog Hank to be quite. So cute! He was barking, so I yelled at him to be quit. Just a few seconds later Paiz started yelling at him too. Such a smart girl. He didn't listen because she's not loud enough, but soon I'm sure he will. She loves him and I know they're going to be good little buds. Listen close because at the very end it really sounds like she says "Shut up" to him...so funny! Oh, and don't mind the hair! This is what I get to wake up to every morning...it's the best!

Christmas time is filled with tons of parties. From the big Hone party to the Draper sibling party on my side and then the Killian, Marvin, and Marvin Sibling parties on Craig's side. This is us taking Paizley sledding for her first time. I was really hoping for a better reaction from her because she really didn't like it. Craig tied a sled up to his truck and pulled us around and once that truck started moving she really didn't like it! So Craig tried taking her down a little hill...still didn't like it! It's like the movement makes her nervous or something. Silly girl. Hopefully next year. There was one thing, however, that she loved...eating snow!

Paizzers 1 year old photo- this was like the only smile we could get out of her because she was so sick. She had her one year old shots the day before and they made her SO sick. I have never seen my sweet little Paizley so sick. That is why she looks so onry in all the photos. Poor girl.

It had been along time since my side of the family had got family pictures taken. Like, years! So luckily we found some time that we all got together and took some photos. Craig's dad took them for us. He always does such a great job. I think they turned out pretty cute and it's nice to now have a family picture where everyone is in it. We also used the pictures to make my parents a huge picture collage for Christmas. It still hasn't come, but I'm excited to see it. So, there's the Drapers!

These are the stats from Paizley's 1 year old check up. She is one healthy little girl and right on track developmentally...except for sleeping. I talked to the Dr. about her sleep habits and told her I was concerned because she still was waking up once a night to eat. The Dr. convinced me that she could go all night without eating and that she was probably waking up because of habit. So, we decided that it was time for her to learn to go without mama at night. It's only been two days and she's already taught herself to go to sleep on her own for naps and she's sleeping all the way through the night...12 hours! I know, it sounds simple right...WRONG! Ok, it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it's SO hard listening to your sweet baby cry. I just hate it. It took her 45 minutes at nap time number one without nursing and bloody murder screaming to finally go to sleep. It took 50 mnutes at night time number one of bloody murder screaming to put herself back to sleep in the middle of the night. But night time number two was a success with 12 full hours of sleep in a row without crying once! Nap time number two was a success with only a few minutes of FAKE crying to get herself to sleep! I'm so proud of her!! And I'm so proud of Craig and I for not ripping our hair out or being sucked into her crying so much that it just breaks your heart and you have to save her!! This wheening thing is starting to go much better. She is only nursing twice a day now. That's my girl. That's my big girl!

Paizley just had her first birthday! I can't even believe she's one years old. She is growing up too fast. She is adorable, funny, and cute in every way. I thought I forgot my camera so my father-in-law took all the pictures at her party. You can find them on facebook. Later I found my camera in my purse! Lame.
We had her party at my work- All American Gymnastics. I work for my college coaches at a gym in Lindon. We decided to have her party there because we wanted to invite so many people for this fun occasion and didn't think any of our homes would hold all of us. It work out perfectly. We got to play in the gym, have cake and ice cream, and watch Paiz open her gifts. I thought she would attack her cake, but she didn't. She had watched me all afternoon make her cake and the cupcakes and she wanted a taste so badly. I decorated her cake with these little candy things and that distracted her. She just picked those off and ate them...she hardly even tasted any cake! Silly Girl! Then with the gifts, everyone she openned she made classic faces. She was so thrilled with every gift. Especially the money from Grandpa Clyde...can you believe she already knows what that is! Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed this special day. Happy Birthday Paizzers. We love you SO much and are excited for all the other birthdays to come. xoxox

I think Halloween might just be Paizley's favorite holiday. Who knows, it could change once Christmas and her birthday come, but she loved it! She couldn't believe that every house we visited they gave her candy. She tried every treat in her Aunt Kara's trick or treat bowl, her uncle Jeremy was stuffing suckers in her socks and boots "for later", Grandpa Clyde just kept saying "take one more", Gramdpa and Grandpa Draper gave her her favorite...rice crispy treats, Grandpa and Grandma Killian gave her a whole baggie of candy, and lastly we finished at Grandpa and Grandma Marvins for some dots...another favorite. Can you say SUGAR HIGH! Seriously she was just going and going and going! And she just kept wanting more! I let her go crazy a bit since it was Halloween, but I am so glad Halloween only comes once a year! So much fun and so much candy! Thanks everyone for the yummy treats. We finished the night off with a scary movie...ok, scary for me! We watched I am Legend. What a perfect Halloween!

Paizley is now 9 months old! I can't believe it! Time sure flies when you're having fun. She just had her 9 month check up and she looks as healthy as can be.

We thought it would be a good idea for her to get a flu shot and she only cried for a few seconds. That's our brave, tough girl alright. The doctor said she's developing well and actually quite advanced developmentally. I just smiled as I looked at our little girl. She's the best and we're so glad she's healthy and developing so well.

Labor Day- "Onion Days"

Labor Day brings so much fun and excitement to Payson because it's the famous Onion Days Celebration. Not only is it a paid holiday for Craig, it's a whole weekend full of activities and time with family. It started Saturday at the park watching Craig's little sister dance. Then we were checking out the carnaval so we could take Paiz on her first Merry-Go-Round ride. However, no Merry-Go-Round was to be found. What kind of carnaval doesn't have a Merry-Go-Round? So sad. Maybe next year. We scoped out the booths and just had a great time together at the park. Monday started off very early with my first 5k race. I ran it with my sister-in-law Annette. I was nervous cause I was feeling under the weather, but I did it! Our goal was to finish under 27 minutes and we finished in 26! I actually took third place in my age group...kind of lame, but hey I was proud of myself. Then we watched the parade...kind of boring but atleast we can say we went to a parade this year! Then we had dinner at my Grannie's and then at Craig's Grandmas. To the car show we went and then finished the day off with watching some pig wrestling. Only in Payson right! Well Paizley is just growing up too fast! She loves to learn and explore. She started crawling at 8 months and is on the verge of walking...walking at 9 months are you serious Paiz! What a kid. She brings so much laugher and joy in our home. She is almost 9 months and has more nicknames given to her by her daddy, aunts, and uncles than I ever imagined. She answers to Tookie Tut, Paizzers, Pailey, Princess, Baby Girl, Tut Tut, Curious George, beautiful, and that's just to name a few. She is really the highlight of our lives and just love her to pieces.

You're going to love this video! This is a good indication of what our nights consist of...so much fun playing with Paiz. Her daddy loves to scare her and in this video she is trying to get away from him but she hasn't figured out how to make it up the stairs yet. So funny!! It makes me think of those dreams where you're being chased but you can't run...but she is actually enjoying this!!

Yuba Lake

For our last trip before summer ends we took a trip to Yuba lake. It was with Craig's work and we had so much fun. We don't have any pictures because I forgot the camera at home, so I'll try to be very descriptive in my writing. Craig's boss paid for us to go to the lake. They provided a wave runner for each family. We had a picnic and dinner there as well. It was Paizley's first time on a wave runner and might I just say it wasn't her favorite. I think it was the life jacket she hated the most but we wouldn't let her on the wave runner without it. She loved sitting on the edge of the beach playing in the water and mud. She loved watching her mama and daddy on the wave runners though. She could hear her mama screaming because her daddy was so crazy on it! What a perfect way to end the summer. So sad it's gone, but it sure was a fabulous one!

Each summer we go to Bear Lake for the Killian Family Reunion. It's always so much fun and this year was even better with our sweet baby girl. Our time is filled with great company, playing games, hunting, shooting, camping, great food, swimming, hiking, biking, jogging, and camp fires. Here are some pictures of our fun trip:

Summer Time Fun

This is my brother Jesse with his first baby girl Addison Lou. I haven't got to meet her yet but I look forward to seeing them in August. She is sure adorable! And doesn't she just look so tiny against my big brother. She looks so much like him when he was a baby. I'm so happy for them! Congrats Jesse and Rosie! And welcome to the family Addie.
This is Paiz with her new friend Brooks. This is my friend Chelsie's baby. We loved having them visit. I can't believe how much babies grow in just 5 months...that is about how much older Paiz is than him.

Happy Birthday America

This 4th of July was a fun one. It started off with Craig playing in a men's softball torny all Friday evening. It took 5 games...but they won! It's always fun because his buddies bring their wives and I get to hang out with them while the boys play alittle ball. Plus, Paiz loves being outside and just had a good time. The next morning we headed up the canyon for a breakfast picnic with Craig's family. We spent the afternoon enjoying the outdoors. Then we came down that night for a BBQ at Craig's Aunt and Uncle's place. Any excuse to have a steak! It consisted of good company, yummy food, and some fireworks. The next day after church we headed back up the canyon for some camping. We were kind of nervous...camping with a baby!?!? It actually went pretty good. Paizley's first time camping was a success! It was quite cold though, so mama and daddy didn't get much sleep since they were too worried about Paizley keeping warm. We've got to invest in a camper. Why doesn't money grow on trees?!? Our awesome camp fire. We burned our old hose in this tube thing and it put off a blue/green light. Pretty neat.
Paiz campin'...why naked? Well she decided to potty in her outfit so she had to hang out in the trailor while her closed dryed. She loves being naked though and so I think she did it on purpose!

Paizley loves water...everything about it! She loves swimming, playing in our water fountain, drinking it, bathing, and even getting squirted with the spray bottle. She'd stay in water all day if we'd let her! Here are some pictures of her first time swimming and the start of many visits to the Payson Pool.No Craig is not wearing a shirt! What a guy, he spent all day in our backyard pouring concrete. Thanks Daddy for making our backyard look so great. He sure can pull of the Farmer's tan though!

The whole family got to go swimming for Aunt Kimmy's dance celebration. Paiz was soooo excited. Just another excuse for her to go swimmin'!

Paizley is just growing up so fast and we love to watch her each day as she's learning and developing. She sure has the cutest little personality. She loves to play and giggle. Pure adorable is what she is and we just love her in our home. We look back now and wonder what we ever did without her.

Just last week she learned how to roll over and it's her knew favorite thing...she feels so big. She has discovered her mouth and hands as well. She's reaching and grabing things and ofcoarse they go right into her mouth. Funny story- I like to take her in on the kitchen floor with me while I'm doing dishes or fixing dinner. She loves to watch her mommy. Well like I mentioned she learned to roll over. I looked down at her and she had rolled over off her blanket onto the tile and was sucking on the tile floor. Gross I know, but so cute! I just thought...Oh I sure hope my kitchen floor is clean. She sure is silly. Here are some pictures we've captured of her doing some of her favorite and silly things.

Paizley just had her 4 month check-up and gets to start big girl food now. She is just getting so big too fast. We just introduced her to rice cereal and next week we will try veggies. She seems to like it and feels so big eating from a spoon. Before we started her on big girl food she would just stare at Craig and I when we'd eat looking at us like, "I want some of that Mom and Dad!" She's still getting the hang of it, but she's loving eating like like a big girl. Here are some pictures of her first experience with rice cereal.
